Riders begin in private (one-on-one) instruction to learn proper technique/skills. Each lesson begins with each rider prepping their horse/pony for the lesson by brushing and saddling. This helps develop confidence both on the ground and in the saddle.
Once independent and confident, riders are placed in group lessons with riders of similar age and level. Safety is always at the forefront of each lesson while maintaining a progression suitable to each group. Whether your goal is simply to enjoy exposure to horses weekly or pursue the show ring, we adapt our lessons to accommodate all levels of aspiring equestrians.
Like any sport/hobby, repetition is key in riding horses. Strength, conditioning and good habits are key. The more consistency, the more riders feel progress and can maintain realistic goals.
All lesson spots are weekly or semiweekly. All lessons are one-hour.
HUNT SEAT RIDING LESSONS
All Lessons — One-Hour Instruction
If riders are interested in pursuing jumping, we recommend lessons semi-weekly as flatwork is
just as important in building skill sets as well as rider strength.
Riders must have a solid seat, hand, and leg in order to jump. Taking two weekly lessons will ensure a proper and safe approach to jumping for both horse and rider.
Any student in our program who remains super passionate about riding and horses is encouraged to inquire about our lease program or consider a purchase their own horse/pony.
